Flavors of Fall With Flatout Flatbreads

The Flatout Flatbreads

Fall ingredients

We had a totally rainy weekend last weekend.  Since I’d just received my shipment of Flatout Flatbreads, and we had some family visiting, I decided to go shopping and pull together some ingredients to have a make-your-own-flatbread-pizza party.  My kids aren’t necessarily the biggest fans of fall flavors, so I selected some traditional materials alongside some fun fall flavors.

First, we cooked up some great fall veggies – squash, mustard greens, onions, and potatoes.  We put each of these items, along with cheese, sauce, and smoky chorizo, in it’s own little container to choose from.  Then, I put out a selection of flatbreads – the Spicy Italian (which really is spicy!), Rustic White or Heritage Wheat flavors.  We also made our own flatbread pizzas, but then the adults chose to share the flatbreads rather than eat our own.

While my kids chose the standard ingredients – cheese and sauce, the adults used the fall ingredients.  The best fall pizza included the squash as the sauce, with the onions and mustard greens as toppings (pictured above).  Although the sauce, chorizo, and cheese on the spicy Italian flatbread was really good also.  The kids had lots of fun making their own pizza, and even their limited patience could wait the 5-10 minutes it took for the pizza to cook.

Flatout Flatbreads are now available in Walmart.  I couldn’t find them at my local store yet, but they should be on the shelves soon.  I’ll definitely be buying more – I see flatbread night as a regular dinner night in our house!
