It’s no secret that I have a difficult time getting motivated to exercise. I know I should, and I have great plans to do it, then I have some sort of an excuse. Perhaps I have somewhere to go right after I drop the kids off at school, so I need to be showered and ready. Or maybe I’m just super busy and can’t take the time to exercise. Or it’s too cold. Or too hot. Or I’m sore, or sick. Or sniffly or weak. You get the point – I ALWAYS have an excuse, even though I know that it’s best for me in the long run to dedicate some time to fitness. For me, I know that fitness needs to be a lifestyle change, not just a one-off thing. That’s one of the many reasons I love MizFit Online, a fitness blog by Carla Birnberg. I first met Carla when we ran the Princess 1/2 Marathon at Disney World a few years ago, and just love her non-judgmental approach to fitness motivation. Nineteen years ago, Carla lost 35 pounds and never regained it. She did it through a thoughtful approach to fitness and nutrition and made a lifestyle change, and now she motivates others to make changes too.
Carla recently combined some of her most popular post and videos into a new eBook, which I’m finding very motivating. I especially liked her tip of keeping a food journal with not only the foods I’m eating, but how they make me feel. I’m definitely going to follow that tip – because even though I know unhealthy foods probably make me feel lethargic, I’ve never kept track of the linkage.
Carla also understands the busy mom’s life, and offers practical, actionable advice that moms can follow. To learn more, and purchase the eBook, click here.
