Getting Ready for BlogHer 2012!

Surely you’ve heard that BlogHer 2012 is this week, in NYC.   The Manhattan location lends itself to all kinds of craziness, since it’s so assessable for so many PR firms and companies.   At this point, I’m supposed to be all stressed out – figuring out schedules, choosing clothes, and most importantly – what shoes do I wear??

But I’m not panicked.   I’m not even shopping for new things.   I haven’t even begun packing.

Because the thing I always stressed out about when I traveled to conferences isn’t a factor anymore.   I’m heading to BlogHer 2012 not worried if my face is about to blow up with acne.   I’m not stressed about how to cover up cysts plus the redness and irritation from strong medications and peels.   My skin is perfectly clear.

Last December I made a decision to try Accutane when nothing else worked.   It wasn’t easy.   I had to avoid alcohol and sun.   I also had to go vegan for a month when my cholesterol spiked.   I had to detox from the medication halfway through treatment when my liver enzymes were a concern.

But it was all worth it, because I’m going to BlogHer worry free.

  1. I thought for sure you were going to say because you could drive, not only skipping TSA but also the overage fees for all your shoes. Goodness, you could bring a suitcase just for shoes!

I will miss being there with you. Have fun!

  3. So true Whitney! It definitely is easier skipping the flight. Although I loved BH in San Diego, even with the flight.

I’ll miss you too – it won’t be the same.

  4. Woohoo for clear skin! People who don’t suffer don’t realize the confidence crusher it can be. Congrats on making it through Accutane – you look gorgeous! Enjoy BlogHer!

Sadly, I don’t have the same non-worries. Dang baby pooch. But I did realize yesterday that if I wear G in a sling, it hides the baby pooch so I’ll be slinging the entire conference I am hoping. Otherwise, I know I’m going to get the “When are you due” comments.

    Plus I need a haircut. :)

  6. I’m a newbie. It’s supposed to be fun, right? And it’s close by!!
