My kids already have several Interactive Story Buddies from Hallmark. First, I won a Christopher at the Mom 2.0 Summit, and my daughter couldn’t get enough of him. In fact, she even decided to make her own YouTube video focused on the features of Christopher. If you haven’t seen it, you can check it out here – it’s a great way to see exactly how the interactive Story Buddies work.
My son then asked for (and received) Cooper for his birthday in June, so both of my kids had their own interactive story buddies. They love the fact that they can read to their buddy and actually have the buddy respond. They are among their favorite toys – and have been since we got them.
Hallmark has just introduced new Holiday Interactive Story Buddies for the holidays – Jingle and Bell. We received Bell, and my daughter immediately ripped open the package to start playing with her. Bell comes with her own book – Bell’s Big Move, which tells the story of Bell’s move from a big city to a small town. Additional books are available, and both Bell and Jingle work with the book Jingle and Bell’s Christmas Star. There’s also an iPad app, also called Bell’s Big Move, and a Hallmark movie, Jingle and Bell’s Christmas Star.
One of the things I love about the Story Buddies is how absolutely soft they are. Because they are interactive, you’d think they would be heavy and bumpy, but instead, they are completely soft and cuddly. I think they’d make a great gift for preschoolers as well as older kids like mine. And, because there are a variety of different books available, they can continue to grow with your children.
