When I first started buying soft soled shoes, my first child wasn’t crawling yet, and was happily wearing leather soled shoes, which were adorable, and useful. However, when she started crawling, the tips of the leather started getting very worn, very quickly, and the soles just weren’t good enough anymore. Then, she started cruising, and I got a little nervous about her being outside with those shoes. It was around that time that I heard about Isabooties. At first, I just loved the very cute and unique styles - especially the colors that are used. But, I read more about the materials used, and realized that these would be a great shoe for a crawler. I purchased my first pair, the Rosey Toesies, which are pink and green (our favorite colors!).
Isabooties are different from leather shoes in that they are made from two unique fabrics, Ultrasuede(R) and Toughtek(R). Ultrasuede(R) is soft, breathable, machine washable, and most importantly, doesn’t crack when crawled on! The Toughtek(R) material is used for the soles and is grippable for early walkers, but also extremely durable.
Now that my child is a walker/runner, we still use them as slippers in the house. Isabooties recently introduced two styles of slippers with a warm fuzzy interior that are really wonderful! My daughter just loves these slippers and begs to wear them!
Isabooties can be found at Isabubu Designs website.
