As a child growing up in the 80’s, I loved the Care Bears, so when I learned that the Care Bears were coming back with a new DVD (for their 25th anniversary - doesn’t that make me feel old!) I was thrilled that my daughter would be able to enjoy them also.  In the DVD, entitled “Oopsie Does It“, the Care Bears have a new look animated with CGI technology, and have two new characters, Oopsie Bear and Amigo Bear.  In addition, the DVD is packaged with a toy from the new toy line - an Oopsie Bear toy figurine.

My daughter was immediately captivated with the video.  The animation and colors are spectacular - it truly is eye catching.  The music is great also and is performed by Kay Hanley (formerly of Letters to Cleo), so it’s “parent-friendly”.  While the movie does have a villain, he isn’t too scary, so my daughter wasn’t upset by him. 

The Care Bears DVD has become one of those “can I watch it again?” DVDs in our home.  It would make a great gift for a special child!  It was released on October 23rd and is available at many retail outlets including Amazon.com.
