My Ob actually told me to avoid brands like this, due to their use of aloe, rosemary and other ingredients linked to birth defects. She said the only safe skin care for pregnancy is Belli.. because they screen for this reason.

I wish more people knew about this, so we could educate our moms-insteads of promoting potentially harmful producs.

    Thanks.

It would be nice if naysayers did not go gung-ho before doing all of their research. Doctor’s advise to avoid herbal supplements, teas, and large consumption of herbal products. Consumption being the key word. I don’t remember anyone ever feeling better from eating a jar of Vicks vapor rub, but it sure feels good on your skin when you are sick. It is not necessary to have an education on body absorption of skin care products to protect your baby. Truth is, used appropriately, skin care products provide much needed physical relief and some with aromatic properties can be mental stimuli as well. Ladies, ENJOY your pregnancy and don’t spend all of your time being terrified and not experiencing your miracle!

There’s definitely a lot of conflicting info about things like this - the important thing is to talk to your OB before using anything new.

I agree…research is key!!! I have done a ton with this pregnancy and ALOE is safe topically and if not ingested!! Some people can be such negative nancy’s….too bad they get a little bit of information and have to state UNTRUE FACTS!!! Ask your OB first before using any product!! And BTW I did look at the belli company above and it seems like they use Sodium Laureth Sulfate and other ingredients I cant even pronounce…and I am sure my OB would be far more concerned about these than some aloe vera!!! It sounds like BELLI is in here commenting on their own company….”the only safe company” uh huh!!!

I lovew these poroducts!!! They smell wonderful and after the birth of my son I had terrible stretch marks…and thanks to their tummy butter- they practically dissappeared!!! I now buy the pampered mama gift box for all my friends baby showers!!! You cant beat the price and the quality!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR STRETCH MARKS!!!

BTW…I didnt see rosemary ingredients listed in ANY of the products Spoiled Mama offers OR to DRINK their aloe product….people should really do their research before over reacting!! And I agree that ALOE VERA is completly safe for topical use during pregnacy. It does sound like companies that have something to ‘HIDE’ are picking on the tried & true companies due to jealousy….too bad…..
