If you attended the BlissDom or Mom2Summit, or followed the tweets from the event, you’ll be familiar with the Yanni Voices project – the first time Yanni’s instrumentals have been prominently accompanied by lyrics and vocals. Attendees at both conferences got a sneak peak of the special, as well as a special appearance by Nathan Pacheco, one of the vocalists (Ender Thomas was also at BlissDom, but was sick during the Mom2Summit). Yanni Voices includes a PBS Special, a tour, as well as a CD, and I recommend the CD for music listeners everywhere (whether you are a mom or not).
Yanni’s music typically falls into the New Age category, although I find this CD also has World Music influences. It’s great car music, commuting music, and relaxing music, but it’s also extremely powerful. I also put it on while playing with the kids – it’s a good CD as background music because there are no objectionable lyrics.
