My kids each take a sandwich to school everyday, and those sandwiches are generally wrapped in aluminum foil or are placed in a small plastic bag. Imagine each kid in the US using at least one plastic bag (and sometimes more – our kids sometimes take fruit in those small snack bags). Those bags sure add up in the landfills quickly. Three moms realized this was becoming a problem and set out to create the perfect reusable snack and sandwich bags – lunchskins!
Lunchkins are made of food-safe fabric that is also heat-resistant and dishwasher safe. They are really well made, and have modern fun designs. You simply place your child’s sandwich (or your own sandwich – there’s also a larger sub size) in the bag, and put it in their lunch tote. At the end of the day, just place it in your dishwasher.
I love the idea of using less plastic and throwing away less, and the bags are a great alternative! My kids now are starting to understand the environmental impact of garbage, and this is a great way to teach them how to participate in making things better. Wow! That sounds incredible!! My daughters are too small for this but it could come in handy for my husband to take lunch to work. Thanks for alerting us to this.
These are so great and stylish! Love them.
