My kids love books, and we love exposing them to all of the wonderful benefits of books. We started their book collections right when they were born, and now both of their bookcases are full and overflowing with books. With a former teacher and a former school librarian as relatives, my kids seemed to always receive books as gifts.
Right from when they were little, the books they loved had bright pictures and repetitive words. Barefoot Books, a company whose US headquarters are right here in Cambridge, MA, recently sent us a package with several books as well as a the Kids’ Garden card set.
The Kids’ Garden set is a great gift for preschoolers – it offers 40 different outdoor activities that kids can do to learn more about nature and gardening. This year, my kids are really interested in learning more about gardening and farming, so this set is absolutely perfect for us. They have really enjoyed doing a variety of the activities, especially the “Magic Spot”, where they sit in the garden and make it their magic spot.
We also received a few books, including the Sounds Around Town book. It includes so many different elements that are essential for developing early reading schools, including repetitive sounds. The pictures are incredibly bright and colorful.
Barefoot Books would be a great gift for kids – you can learn more at their Web site.
Disclaimer: We received several products from Barefoot Books for review.

Stewart is so good, as in her previous books, at cutting straight to the most interesting stuff, whether it’s about Freud’s cocaine use …or the coyotillo berry, whose toxic agents can sit in your system for a week before total paralysis sets in.
cutting straight to the most interesting stuff to gain knowledge to increase yourself.
