Macy’s Shop for a Cause This Weekend

Shop for a Cause My daughter was premature, and although she never needed to spend time in the NICU, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for the March of Dimes.  They work tirelessly to help prevent birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality, and also support advance maternal and health research.  This weekend, Macy’s is working with the March of Dimes to help raise funds, and you can help (and you get something great from it, too!).

Here’s how it works:

You purchase a $5 Macy’s saving pass that will provide 25% off on regular, sale & clearance items including home (10% off electronics, watches, furniture, mattresses, rugs/floor coverings).  Macy’s donates the full $5 to the March of Dimes, and you get a great discount on shopping!  Win-win!

The whole pass buying process is a little complicated, but here are the details:

From August 15-24: buy passes in-store which are good for in-store purchases only.

On August 25, you can buy a $5 savings pass online at macys.com (good for online purchases only) or in-stores (good for in-store purchases only).

You can get your discount of 25% online or in stores (depending on where you bought them) on August 25th.  BUT, two stores in Massachusetts are offering the sale on both the 24th and 25th – Boston (450 Washington Street, Boston) and Berkshire (170 Old State Road, Lanesboro).

Wondering what to buy?  Well, I’ve already taken the liberty of checking out Macys.com and figuring out exactly what I want!  Here are some of my choices:

Ray Ban Sunglasses – I’ve mentioned how essential sunglasses are (even in the fall/winter) so if you need a new pair, I’m loving these.  Ray Ban makes a great product!

Dooney & Bourke Handbag, Croc Crossbody Satchel – This Macy’s Exclusive is gorgeous for fall and so professional.

American Tourister Suitcase, 30″ iLite DLX Rolling Spinner Upright – if you need a new suitcase, make sure it’s lightweight now that airlines are being super-strict with weigh restrictions.

Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder – I love these brightening powders for the fall and winter when skin starts to get dull.

Bobbi Brown Desert Twilight Eye Palette – These eye colors are simply gorgeous.

Blowfish Shoes, Telland Tall Boots - you need a new pair of boots for fall/winter, right?

Check out images of all of these items on the slideshow!

Of course, you can also get your back to school needs at Macy’s too – after you are done pampering yourself.

This post (+ my sharing on social media) was inspired by my participation in a compensated program initiated by Women Online/The Mission List to raise awareness about the March of Dimes/Macy’s charitable fundraiser. All commentary, opinions, and fabulous finds are, of course, my own.
