Mind Body Finance With TD Bank and Aerial Yoga

I was terrified I would hit my head.

When TD Bank, approached me through Boston Parent Bloggers and asked for me to help run an event for local bloggers, I was happy to do it.  I’ve been a loyal TD Bank customer since they merged with my local bank years ago, and I’ve been so happy with their service.  I’ve never had a problem, have loved their super convenient hours, and really love the staff in my local branch.  They are also my small business bank, and will soon be the Boston Parent Bloggers’ bank.

Then, they mentioned Aerial Yoga.  What does aerial yoga have to do with finance, you ask?  In their words,

Why Anti-Gravity Yoga & Banking?

  • Flexibility – TD Bank offers its customers more choices to tailor a checking account to suit their lifestyle; offering flexibility for your finances. AntiGravity yoga promotes increased mind-body flexibility
  • Both are all about freeing yourself – not only does yoga allow you to free your mind but antigravity yoga takes it a step further in suspended positions. TD Bank customers are freed from the burdens of carrying heavy checking account balances to avoid big monthly fees with one of the lowest bars to free checking available today

Yes, this meant I’d have to suspend myself from the ceiling in a silk sling while doing yoga.  I gathered up a group of brave Boston Parent Bloggers and we headed to South Boston Yoga (which offers this intro class regularly, if you are interested).

Jodi’s not impressed with aerial yoga.

Honestly, while many of the moves were a bit challenging (if only because I was terrified I’d fall), it was a lot of fun.  I felt really good about myself after finishing it, because I couldn’t believe I did all that.  And, the best thing was that the TD Bank execs were right along there with us – doing aerial yoga in their work clothes.  That must be a great work environment!

Disclosure: Boston Parent Bloggers (which I co-founded) was a consultant on this event and TD Bank offered us the class at no cost.
