Neck Deep In Home Redorating

New Year – New Start!   After visiting the absolutely gorgeous Harborview Place in Nantucket, MA in December, I was inspired to redecorate much of our house.   I just realized that I never really felt that the decor of my home fit my personality, and now that I’m spending so much time at home, I want it to be inviting and warm.

Last year, I got new accessories for our bathroom, and we painted it a light aqua-ish blue.   The bathroom was originally a goldish brown, but it was way too dark.   I love, love, love the new bathroom.

Then, we got all new furniture for our TV Room.   That room gets the most use in our home, and the furniture was worn and in pretty rough shape.   I didn’t want to get anything new until the puppy was acclimated and the kids were a bit older, but now I feel good about buying new stuff.   Of course, once the room had new furniture, we realized it desperately needed painting.   The room looks great – it’s inviting, calming, and warm.

But, then, I felt the living room didn’t really match the rest of the house.   We didn’t want to buy all new furniture for that room, so instead I added some navy and red accessories to make it blend it with the kitchen and the new TV room.

Well, once that was done, I took a look at our dining room – a room we’ve never actually used.   My house really isn’t big enough to have an entire room that we don’t use, and I have desperately needed an office.   So, we got rid of the dining room table, ordered a new desk, and soon, I’ll have my very own office!!

I’ll add pictures as the painting is completed and everything is finished, but for now, here’s a photo of my favorite accessory – a split canvas print photo.   I took this picture on Martha’s Vineyard during a trip my husband and I took for our 10th anniversary, and had it printed at the PersonalizationMall.
