When I was decorating my nursery for my first child, I had to go with a neutral decor. I was told by one ultrasound tech that she was a boy, followed by another who said she was a girl. I ended up choosing a green teddy bear theme, which also worked for my son. I always wanted to decorate my baby’s nursery just right for him or her, and was sad that had to pick something much more neutral than I’d wanted.
If I had it all to do over again (and I don’t, and most likely won’t), I’d choose a preppy nursery decor. There are so many fun items available on Etsy and in stores, and the nice thing is that it isn’t baby-ish, so it can grow with your child (unlike those teddy bears, which only worked for two or three years.
Looking for preppy nursery decor ideas? I found some great items on Etsy that are reasonably priced and super cute. They are also not specifically for babies or nurseries, so you’ll get loads of use out of them.
My favorite items are the pink and navy pictures (I love the idea of offsetting pink with navy for a preppy, crisp look), the blue and white stripped pictures (these would be a great baby gift), and the pink and green closet dividers (also available in a huge variety of colors and designs).
You can find lots of other ideas on Etsy – just search for preppy nursery decor.
