I first met Chris Mann at the first Mom 2.0 Summit, when he performed for us then happily donned a burger-bag hat for the CheeseburgHER party. I’ve followed the ups and downs of his career since then, and was especially happy when he was chosen by Christina Aguilera for her team on the Voice. Although Chris didn’t win the Voice, he went all the way to the finals.
His album, Roads, was recently released, and I am loving it. It features 11 songs – many of which you are probably already familiar with, like Frank Sinatra’s My Way and Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.
Chris’ voice is part classically-trained artist, part pop star, and I really think these songs showcase his beautiful voice perfectly. Although I have a special place in my heart for Ave Maria (it was my Grandmother’s favorite, and it was also sung at my wedding), my favorite song on this album is the Blower’s Daughter. It also features his mentor from the Voice Christina Aguilera, and it’s simply beautiful. I hope that it becomes a hit.
Other songs include the title track Roads, Always on My Mind, and Falling. The whole album is sort of adult-contemporary/light pop.
Chris is also releasing a holiday album soon, which I’m sure will also be great. He’s got a wonderful voice for holiday music.
You can buy Chris’ album on iTunes or Amazon.com.
