I’ve changed up my foundation a lot over the years. First, my skin was very acne-prone, and I needed something with that offered heavy coverage. Then, I was on Accutane and had very dry skin. I also have different skin color in the winter than in the summer. This means I’ve tried a LOT of different foundations. My favorite foundation type is powder, because it’s generally easy to apply, is long lasting, and is convenient for travel. However, powder foundation can often be dry, and can cake on your skin. So, it’s something you have to apply with a light hand, and over some good moisturizer. I had the opportunity to try Make Up For Ever’s new Pro Finish powder foundation, and I’m really loving it.
Pro Finish powder foundation is offered in 25 colors with 4 different overtones, so you are likely to find a color that works for you. I have light skin with a yellow-ish (but not yellow) undertone, so I selected the Golden Ivory color which is a great match. You can use Pro Finish powder foundation both as a regular powder foundation (I use a brush to apply) or as a wet foundation (just wet the included sponge and dip it in the powder). Unlike other powder foundations, the wet application is more sheer than the powder application. I’ve been using the wet application more – I’m loving the sheer finish.
In addition, Make Up For Ever has announced a Mobile Make Up school that will be visiting select cities. You can bring along your makeup bag (regardless of brand) and Make Up For Ever’s mobile artists will show you how to use what you own and will help you swap out items that are the wrong color or texture. To sign up, visit the Make Up For Ever Facebook page. Cities include Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, Toronto, and San Francisco.
You can purchase Make Up For Ever Pro Finish powder foundation at Sephora.
