I’ve always hated taking the kids’ temperature when they are sick. It was really difficult when they were babies, but honestly, it hasn’t really gotten that much easier now that they are older. They are always uncomfortable and squirmy, and it just seems to take forever for the temperature to register. While we’ve had a relatively healthy winter cold and flu season, my son did recently have a bad cold, so I had the chance to put our new RediScan No-Touch Thermometer to the test.
The RediScan Thermometer works on the forehead. You can place it right over the forehead, and then move forward until the thermometer beeps, indicating that it’s in the right spot. The indicator is very helpful for a squirmy child, because you know you’ve got it exactly right ““ no more 95-degree temps because you’ve placed the thermometer in the wrong spot. It’s also easy to view the temperature at night – essential when you have a sleeping little one.
Luckily, my little guy didn’t have a fever with his cold, so I can’t really speak to how the thermometer works with high fevers, but it’s great with low-grade fevers and normal temperatures. It provides a quick, accurate temperature, which is obviously the most important thing to me as a mom.
You can buy the RediScan No Touch Thermometer online.
Disclosure: I received the RediScan Thermometer at no cost for review.
