I’m going to admit it. Since my daughter, now in 2nd grade, went into kindergarten, I have struggled with committing to a workout schedule. When they were in daycare twice a week, it was so easy because I could bring them early, get my exercise in, and still have the whole day to work.
Now, I’m busy in the morning getting them ready, and then I drive them to school. By 8:45am, when I return from drop off, I want to get ready for the day – I don’t want to start working out, then shower. I wouldn’t be ready to go until after 10am.
Over the summer, I read this article “Instead of Saying, ‘I Don’t Have Time’, Say, “It’s Not a Priority“, and I realized that by not working out, I’m saying that I don’t prioritize health and well being. And I’m not comfortable with that.
So, here goes. I am doing the TurboFire/ChaLEAN Extreme hybrid routine. It’s a 20-week program, 6-days a week, and while I do know that it’s not realistic to assume that I will be able to exercise 6-days every week (I do travel a lot), I am going to try my best. I started with the workouts after school drop off last week, and I’m already feeling so much better. I love that post-exercise soreness when I know my body is getting stronger.
Since it takes 21-days to start a habit, I’ll be back here on September 24th reporting on my progress!
