It seems as though the summer has just started, and yet my kids are about to go back to school in just three short weeks. While our elementary school doesn’t send home school supply shopping lists, there’s still plenty of things that we need to purchase. So, how can moms save money during this time of year? Here are a few suggestions:
- Hit the sales! During this time of year, school supplies are so heavily discounted that it’s best to stock up this time of year and save. Keep in mind that shopping around is a great idea, because prices do vary.
- For items like backpacks and lunch boxes that will be used daily for the whole year, sometimes it pays to spend more money on higher quality items.
- If you, like me, are going to be saving money when you little one goes to school because you’ll no longer be paying for preschool/day care, consider saving it in a 401k. That way, you won’t even miss the money!
