Smoke Alarm Chirping? Try Kidde Worry-Free Alarms

Smoke alarm chirpingLast month, my husband left for a ten-day business trip to India.  About an hour after he left, I heard a chirping noise in the basement.  I went down into the basement – several times actually – and each time the chirping stopped.  So annoying.  I eventually found it – and replaced the battery, but changing those batteries twice a year can be really irritation.  This month, Kidde, a popular smoke and carbon-monoxide detector brand, has introduced Worry-Free alarms.  These alarms are always on and last ten years with no battery replacement required.

Kidde Worry-Free Alarms are available in four types – Living Area, Hallway, Kitchen (which also includes a carbon monoxide monitor), and Bedroom.  The alarms also have a hush button for nuisance alarms – these can be pressed when the alarm goes off by accident.  Each of the alarms offer something different depending on the location.  For example, the bedroom alarm includes a talking voice and the hallway alarm includes LEDs to provide a clear, lighted escape path

You’ll save significant money on these, since you won’t have to replace multiple batteries.  The alarm won’t chirp repeatedly, but it does chirp when it’s time to completely replace the alarm – in about ten years.

These Kidde Worry-Free Alarms are available exclusively at Home Depot.

Love this idea of the batteries lasting this long. I can think of a couple of place that these would really come in handy since those places are so hard to reach. Thanks for this chance :)

I’ve read research articles with astounding statistics about how much better kids respond to fire alarms that use voices and i love how the one has a light one it.

I found out that my BIL and SIL are heating their house with portable kerosene heaters and have no smoke detectors in their house. I’d give this to them
