When a Good Deal Isn’t Such a Good Deal

Back in April, I saw a Groupon deal for sedan transportation to Logan Airport.  Since I travel to the airport quite a bit, it seemed to be a great deal – $49 for a trip that usually costs at least $100.  With parking at Logan costing $22 per day, I decided to purchase the full three vouchers allowed.

Although the deal didn’t turn out to be as good as it appeared – the company added a hefty tip plus tolls – but it was still a nice discount.  I’d used the company once or twice before and was happy with them, so, when I was getting ready for an upcoming trip, I called to book my sedan.  The phone at the company just went to a message that stated the mailbox was full.  I tried to call over and over again, and no response.

I called Groupon.  Surprisingly, I got right through to a rep who immediately agreed to refund my entire purchase price.  No haggling.  No arguing.  Just fabulous customer service.

Thanks Groupon.  I’m one happy customer!
