It’s been a long time since I’ve lived near the water, but I still love anything beach themed. While I try to limit the amount of actual nautical-themed items I incorporate into our home decor, I do like to have a few things that remind me of the beach. When I saw all of these fun miniatures at Michaels, I knew that I could create something fun for our living room. I typically switch out that centerpiece on a regular basis, and this is just perfect for the summer. The Beach Themed Centerpiece Terrarium is easy to make, and your kids can help as well.
Beach Themed Centerpiece Terrarium
First, start out by buying everything you need at Michaels. You definitely don’t need to choose everything that I bought. Just make sure that whatever you purchase fits in the opening of the terrarium. Some of the items I purchased are sold online, but others are in-store only.

Start out by adding the moss. I used about half the package, and made sure that it was really compact by pressing down on it. Once you’ve added the moss, put some rocks on top.
Next, add the largest pieces. I wanted everything to stand up on its own so I worked the pieces into the moss, and used the rocks to help stand them up. It definitely took a little bit of arranging, but ultimately, I was successful.
Finally, add in those smaller pieces. You don’t need too much – just a few little items to round out the beach themed centerpiece terrarium.
Do you have kids that want to help? They can do almost anything in this project, depending on their age! Let them pick out the individual pieces, add in the moss and rocks, and add the final pieces.
