Are you looking for some delicious Halloween treats this season? With Halloween coming up next month, the stores are starting to stock some food flavors and colors that are perfect for the holiday. These Candy Corn Oreos are perfect for any Halloween party and are quick and easy to make. Candy Corn Oreo Recipe
SUPPLIES NEEDED (purchase at Amazon, or in a local store)
Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper and set aside.
In a double boiler, melt the solid shortening. In lieu of a double boiler, you can use this chocolate and candy melting pot. Add the candy corn chocolate melts and stir occasionally until melted. Pour the melted chocolate into a smaller microwave safe bowl for easier handling. If you use the melting pot, you don’t need to transfer it.
Add 2 tablespoons of the melted candy corn flavored chocolate to each mold.
Place an Oreo cookie on top of the melted chocolate.
Spoon the rest of the melted chocolate on top of each Oreo cookie until they are completely covered. Set aside any remaining melted chocolate for later use.
Chill for one hour.
Once chilled, pop the cookies out of their mold and place on the lined baking sheet.
Microwave the remaining candy corn chocolate in 10 second increments until melted again. Stir.
Dip one side of each candy corn into the melted chocolate and place on the top of each Oreo cookie.
Sprinkle with yellow and orange jimmies (sprinkles).
Chill for 20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
