A few weeks ago, I created a DIY Lighted Blue Mason Jar with the Ball limited edition jars, and I wanted to do something similar with a green Mason jar. I recently picked up a case at Michaels, and when I came upon the sunflower metal stickers I’d purchased a while ago, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. You can use any type of sticker or flower that you’d like, but I love the rusty country look of this one.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Ball Heritage Collection Pint Jars
FloraCraft® Burlap Garland
Momenta Metal Flower, Sunflower
LED String Lights
Grapevine Balls (I bought the lighter rattan tan ones at Michael’s, but I couldn’t find any online)
First, I cleaned off the exterior of the Mason jar. The burlap I purchased was a little thick, so I cut it down to size. The rough edges add to the rustic look. Using the glue, I glued it to the Mason jar and let it dry. Leave the opening in the front, so you can conceal some of it with the sticker.
Once it was completely dry, I used more glue on the metal sticker, and dried it face down on a paper towel.
Cut enough jute twine to wrap around the top several times, and tie a double knot.
Fill the interior with the grapevine/rattan balls, hiding the LED flickering tea light inside. I like the ones with auto timer because you won’t need to turn it on and off.
