As my kids have gotten older and more involved in school, I've found that we get more and more important pieces of paper to save. Pictures of my daughter in the newspaper, notes and letters, and achievements cover our refrigerator. However, these things are priceless, and paper is so fragile. So when I received a Fellowes Saturn2 95 to use in my everyday life, I immediately pulled those things off the fridge and got started laminating.
Fellowes Laminator Review
The Saturn2 95 laminator comes with a starter kit of letter-sized pouches in the 3mm thickness. Other sizes are available, including a convenient photo-sized kit, which is better for small clippings and photos.
The Saturn2 95 works for both cold laminating (for self-adhesive pouches) and hot laminating of pouches 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm. All you have to do is plug in the laminator, select your desired setting, and wait a few minutes for it to heat up. Once it's heated, you can just slide the pouch in, and it comes out fully laminated. The device itself contains all of the heat, so I feel comfortable operating it around my children. The pouches do get hot though, so it's best to let an adult remove them from the machine.
Laminating is definitely addictive – once you have the capability in your home, you'll find lots of things that you want to preserve this way. I've found so many different things to laminate – including school projects, photos, name tags, artwork, signs, important paperwork, and more. I use my laminator at least a few times a month now, and it's a major part of my home office.
