It's definitely not too early to start thinking of holiday gift ideas. I try to avoid the rush of the Christmas season by buying gifts over the course of several months. When I see something that is perfect for a recipient on my list, I buy it, making sure I save the receipt, and keep a record of the purchase. If there's a travel lover on your gift list this year, here are some of my favorite gifts for a travel lover. These gifts are great for the holidays but are also perfect for other occasions as well.

As we head into the cooler weather, I love having some throw blankets around the house. This blanket from Look Human is super soft and is a great size for a throw blanket. Look Human also offers lots of other great items that are sure to be perfect for someone on your gift list.
I couldn't possibly travel without my headphones. I use them on any public transportation, and I also use them in hotel rooms when my kids are in the same room. If you are looking for a higher-end gift for someone on your list (especially someone who is difficult to buy for), a great set of headphones are a wonderful idea.
I love to document my travels, and I'm a bit obsessed with traveler's notebooks from Foxy Fix. You can see how I set mine up for travel here. Note that Foxy Fix opens their shop a few days a week, so if things appear out of stock, you have to try again. Also, it does take a few weeks for the products to be custom made, so order in advance of when you need it.

If the travel lover in your life travels internationally, consider buying a passport holder. This will keep their passport safe when it's in their bag and will make sure that none of the pages get folded, creased, or destroyed.
I love my travel sweaters from SCOTTeVEST. They are great for anytime, not just when I travel. They include lots of big pockets, are lightweight, and are so easy to pack.
When traveling, it's important to keep cash and passports secure, so a travel scarf is a great idea. This one from SholdIt is stylish and holds your valuables close to you.
I can't travel without my books. Since I usually read a few different books on vacation, I love bringing my Kindle along. It's lightweight and easy to tuck into my purse. Amazon is offering this travel bundle which includes a fun case.
This map is so fun, especially for families. You can scratch off each location that you travel to, making it a creative way to keep track of where you've been. There are several versions, including US and International versions.
