Before having my human children, there came a dog that changed everything. Not only has she taught me humility, she made me into a stain removing expert. You see, Lola had an ulcer and would get sick over 10 times a week. Whether it was on my sofa or my lovely Turkish rugs, my bed or my clothes, Lola did not discriminate. When she was sick, she was sick and I had to be creative in ways to remove the smell and the stain of vomit and I also learned what doesn't work. Take note, pouring laundry detergent on a microfiber couch doesn't work (Sorry Dad. I know you tried 😉 Now that I have children, my experience with Lola and bodily fluids has only been helpful as I clean up a whole new set of stains. I love trying out new cleaners. I have a few favorites that I stick with, but I'm always looking for something that works well and smells pleasant. When I got an opportunity to try the Non-Toxic Spot Shot® Instant Carpet Stain & Odor Eliminator, I jumped on it.
My kit arrived with a bottle of spray and a piece of carpet and two materials to try the spray on. First, I smooshed chocolate on one side of the carpet and then sprayed ammonia on the other half. After blotting the wetness off of each side, I sprayed the Spot Shot on each side and then blotted the area. It was amazing how quickly the scent of ammonia and the stain of chocolate was lifted off. I returned back hours later to find that the scent was still gone and the chocolate marks were not apparent. Success! The best part is that the Non-Toxic Spot Shot® Instant Carpet Stain & Odor Eliminator has a light, pleasant scent that does not offend or cloy. It is also obviously non-toxic and biodegradable! If you have pets, especially like Lola, you can pick up Spot Shot Pet, which works specifically for pet-type mistakes.
