I never realized how many times I would need to vacuum. Before we had kids, I could leisurely run a vacuum over our throw rugs every week or so. But now, with a dog and two children, as well as wall-to-wall carpeting on our second floor, I constantly have to pull out the vacuum. For my everyday vacuuming, I need a small powerful vacuum – something that is easy to use and lightweight, but still works great. I recently received the Dyson Small Ball for review, and I’m amazed at how well it works.

The Dyson Small Ball is a multi-floor vacuum, and can be used on different floor types. It’s lightweight and small – just 2.6 ft. tall with the handle retracted and 12.15lbs. It’s also 30% quieter than its predecessor and has a 25% longer cleaning reach with the cable, hose, and wand. It’s small, but is also extremely effective. When I received it, I immediately used it to vacuum all of my rugs. I was amazed to see how much dust and dirt came out of the rugs – especially because they had just recently been vacuumed with a different machine. It’s nice to know that all of that stuff – including allergens – have been removed from my house.
It’s easy to move the vacuum back and forth into upright position. There’s a magnetic lock in the ball that is brand-new with this model, and it helps pop the machine upright. In fact, the motor, filter, ducting, stand, and values are all engineered into the ball, which makes it easy to maneuver around. It’s effortless to move around furniture and walls, and also works well on stairs.
Emptying the Dyson Small Ball is simple – you just have to hold the cylinder over a garbage pail and press the button. The dirt and dust immediately falls directly down into the pail.
The Dyson Small Ball is available exclusively at Amazon.com and Dyson.com.
