Trying to find the best price when shopping can be challenging. It's so difficult to pay full price, especially when you know that it's something that may eventually go on sale. And, when shopping online, it's always hard to know if there's a good discount code that you can use (especially if the site's shopping cart page has a section for a coupon code – and you don't have one). I've found some great ways to save money by getting shopping deals, whether you are shopping online or in store. These don't always work every time, but it's definitely worth check them out.

Ultimate Guide to Getting Shopping Deals
Many popular stores offer apps, so it's definitely worth downloading any of the apps that are available. Often, store apps will offer coupons and deals. Some are exclusive, and others aren't – but these store apps are still a great way to keep the coupons with you when you are shopping in store. Some of the store apps on my phone include the following: Michaels, Cartwheel, Sephora, JoAnn Fabrics.
In addition to specific store apps, I recommend downloading the some savings apps. These apps can often deals on specific items, or on entire stores.
Here are two apps that I recommend:
Ibotta (click this link and get $10 after you redeem a rebate) – With Ibotta, you get cash back when purchasing specific items from specific stores. It's best to look through the app before you leave the house, and select each of the items you'll be buying. Once you purchase the items, you'll need to photograph your receipt and submit it.
Coupon Sherpa – I LOVE this app. It's also a website, and it includes coupon codes and deals for stores. You can even search by current location to see what deals are available near you. Through Coupon Sherpa, I've gotten deals in store at World Market, Petco, Bertuccis, and Ulta).
When shopping online, you'll also want to check out a few savings/cashback sites. These sites will give a percentage of your purchase back to you if you click through their link. There are many different sites where you can get cash back, including Nordstrom, Athleta, Travelocity, and Under Armour. Deals can vary, so look at each of the sites before deciding on the one to use.
If you use Chrome, there are two browser extensions that I recommend you download.
Honey – Honey searches current coupon codes to see if any are applicable to your order. While it definitely can help you save time, I still recommend going through the other sites as well to see if you can get a better deal. And, if you choose to use one of the cash back sites listed above, you need to click on their link specifically for the order to be credited.
Amazon Assistant – If you have Amazon prime, you'll love this Amazon Assistant browser extension. It will alert you when the item you are viewing at another online store is available on Amazon, and will include the price. I've saved a lot of money this way – both when the item was available at the same price but with free shipping (with Prime) and when the item was available at a lower rate.
Email Lists and Reward Clubs
Many stores will give coupons and special deals to those who are members of their reward clubs and email lists. For smaller store, you can often get a discount code just by signing up for their newsletter. Some examples of stores offering rewards clubs and other promotions include Nordstrom, Talbots, Soma, and Sephora.
